History

Drumgooland Presbyterian Church was established in 1749. Membership today stands at 150 families.  Our church is located in the townland of Closkelt just a couple of miles outside the village of Katesbridge. The meeting house sits on top of a hill looking towards the Mourne Mountains. Without a doubt we have one of the most magnificent views of any congregation in the Presbyterian Church in Ireland.

Since 1937 we have enjoyed a close and harmonious union with our sister congregation of Kilkinamurry just a couple of miles away.
